Who is Wordbank?

Wordbank is a marketing translation and localization agency, specializing in global marketing communications since 1988, helping brands to identify and connect with their international target audiences. We are experts in the cultural adaptation and transcreation of advertising, creative media and marketing material in 140 languages, delivering best-fit content and creative adaptations for local markets. We are a medium-sized private company with sales, production and media operations in Denver and London and have an impressive client list of well-known B2C and B2B brands and international creative and design agencies.

The Role

The Project Coordinator is an entry level role that is central to our ISO 9001:2015 certified localization process and involves reviewing translated content for overall consistency and quality, managing client-specific glossaries and target text corpora (a.k.a. translation memories or TMs), monitoring and improving the quality of work produced by translator teams, performing layout checks on digital and print creatives, and by assisting project manager with project checks and administrative tasks as needed, while ensuring that all project documentation and files are maintained to company standards.

This is a “heads down”, detail-oriented position, focused on the creation, development, and maintenance of multilingual glossaries and translation memories on designated client accounts, using industry standard software and best practice for multilingual marketing content. The right person for us will also be interested in the “bigger picture”, actively seek opportunities to contribute meaningfully to process refinement discussions with team members and will continually seek ways to demonstrate the value of what you do.

The successful candidate will:

  • be knowledgeable about grammatical, editorial and typographic conventions

  • demonstrate copy editing or technical writing experience

  • be technically-savvy and comfortable with figuring out complex softwares and solutions

  • have a deep interest in and /or familiarity in working with languages

  • have an excellent eye for detail

  • manage time with focus and self-mastery while able to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines

  • effectively communicate with internal teams, in-country freelance linguists, and clients

  • be willing to help out cross-functional teams with ad hoc tasks that come up

  • ideally have an understanding of localization and terminology / translation memory management tools or a proven capability in learning and working with language- or qa-based software

  • have the ability to meticulously follow specific instructions, but also able to think for yourself and be resourceful in figuring out unfamiliar tasks.

  • thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven, and high-pressure environment subject to constant interruptions.

If you have a passion for language, can multi-task, thrive under pressure, think on your feet, solve technical problems, and want to be part of making opportunities in a growing team within a friendly, fast-paced organization, this role is for you.
