ROLE OVERVIEW

Wordbank is looking for an experienced sales/account management or business development professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and “challenger” mindset to fill the role of Sales Executive within our expanding Customer Engagement team.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This role is a perfect fit for someone with 3-5 years of account development/strategic account management capacity that loves the process of hunting and closing new relationships or someone who has some business development and sales management experience looking to grow professionally. Experience within the localization or marketing industry is not required, but is a plus. 

This role is well-suited for individuals with a strategic, consultative mindset and strong drive to achieve business goals. The ideal person understands that while they are a “salesperson” in title they are really a liaison between the prospects’ needs and goals and Wordbanks’ services. Closing the right deals for the right reasons is far more important than simply hitting cold sales targets.  

This person knows the importance of developing lasting relationships built on trust and can skillfully identify and communicate the value Wordbank brings to their clients’ long term business needs and goals. The ideal candidate sets high standards and challenging goals and maintains a consistent focus on achieving and exceeding those goals. 

A person who is agile and looking for a challenge in an environment that’s focused on selling business outcomes (strategic versus transactional localization delivery); confident in having conversations with senior-level clients in Fortune 1000 companies in a variety of roles spanning Media & Communications, Web, Brand, Marketing, Content, Digital, Social Media, Product and Creative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FOCAL POINTS

At the highest level, the Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business opportunities (i.e. sales qualified leads)  and shepherding prospects through our strategic sales process with a smooth transition to our delivery teams. They’ll work closely with our growing Denver & London Customer Success and Customer Engagement teams.

Level of Effort:

  • 40% Generating new client relationships to impact on business goals.
  • 10% Reigniting dormant client relationships. 
  • 40% Sales pipeline management (guiding deals through our sales process of reporting and pitch decks)
  • 10% Admin and reporting 
  • 0% people management

You will: 

Generate New Business Opportunities

  • Perform research and analysis to drive new business, finding new sales leads and opportunities, and coordinating with customer success and operational teams to close new client relationships.
  • Contact past and dormant clients to uncover new sales opportunities
  • Create and execute business development campaigns, both online and offline, that generate new business opportunities. Examples include offline and online networking, developing referral partnerships, etc.  

Shepard Prospects Through Our Strategic Sales Process

  • Handle leads created by your business development efforts
  • Respond to inbound leads from marketing and referrals
  • Lead score opportunities to prioritize your efforts 
  • Conduct initial discovery/qualification calls
  • Identify risks and opportunities throughout the sales process
  • Deliver our value proposition and key selling points  
  • Address pain points and sales objections
  • Manage quote/proposal strategy & execution
  • Put together and deliver pitch decks and proposals with support from internal subject matter experts
  • Manage contracts & commercial setup
  • Manage client onboarding and transition to our delivery teams 
  • Manage a sales pipeline in our CRM (Active Campaign)
  • Generate weekly/monthly reporting against KPIs

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

YOU’LL HAVE… YOU ARE…
3-5 years of business development or account development/strategic account management who loves the process of hunting & closing new relationships and looking to grow professionally. A challenger seller. With a strategic, consultative mindset, helping clients to succeed comes easily to you and you build strong, lasting relationships based on results.  
A track record in delivering an excellent customer experience. Organized and able to sift through changing priorities. Proactive in identifying customer needs, outward-thinking, skilled in aligning internal and external expectations.
A track record in building business and solving problems. A problem-lover, thriving on working through root causes, offering options to address and implementing solutions.
Excellent presentation (Google Slides and/or PowerPoint) and business analysis skills. A flawless communicator in person and on paper, able to build trust with clients and internal teams, balancing win-win situations. Demonstrable experience in solving problems and helping to scale delivery models to meet clients’ needs.
Experience within the localization or marketing industry is not required but a plus.  A self-confident, highly collaborative team player. Creative and innovative in creating and hunting down opportunities. Flexible and adaptable in the face of challenge.
Sound experience using Google Suite, MS Office and workflow management tools. Disciplined, organized and determined in staying on top of your goals and metrics, confident with numbers and commercial conversations, proactive in following up.
Understanding of sales & marketing techniques and practices. An influencer, able to build empathy and demonstrate an understanding of the potential issues in a situation; able to then discuss and address concerns and get buy-in to a specific course of action.
Commercial experience including forecasting / financial planning, quoting and proposal management. A natural connector and relationship-builder. You see the patterns and connect the dots easily to the bigger picture. You are empathetic and build strong relationships with others.
Confident with sales and CRM tools for budgeting, presentation, planning and tracking. Curious critical thinker. Listen & ask smart, thoughtful questions. Taking time to do it right upfront and saying something if you see something wrong.

 SALARY & BENEFITS

A big part of the Wordbank ethos is to put our clients’ and employees on the same team working towards a common goal. This is especially important at the beginning of our relationship when prospects are participating in our sales process. As such, Wordbank is a commission free company. That said, we provide a competitive base salary and incentivise our employees to work collaboratively by offering a quarterly team bonus structure. 

The base annual salary for this position is $85,000 plus benefits (health insurance, 401k, life insurance, transportation, 18 days PTO, etc). Your total compensation will also include any team bonuses paid out on a quarterly basis.
