Balloons in Sky

As a certified B Corp, we are committed to more than just our bottom line. We believe an economy that is equitable, transparent, and environmentally sound will make the world a better place. For everyone. With the launch of the #VoteEveryDay campaign, we’re getting behind the B Corp movement and the reality that our votes – as individuals, as professionals, as organizations – don’t stop on Election Day. We vote with our values every day by choosing to support B Corporations and the growing global community of organizations committed to sustainable business practices.

Election day may be over, but you can continue to vote your values each and every day, both personally and professionally, by choosing who you work for, who you buy from, and who you do business with. The B Corp community is made up of individuals and organizations committed to the movement of business as a force for good. They stand for responsible capitalism encompassing sustainable business through environmental protection, increasing equity, high-quality job creation, and more. With over 2,800 certified B Corps in the marketplace and a further 50,000 companies in the pipeline, spanning just about every product and service you may need, you can Vote Every Day by supporting brands that share your values.

As a certified B Corp and Best for Colorado Honoree, we believe that work should be a place where you can bring your whole self and that happy, engaged people are, simply, better for business and the world. With work and life converging in today’s world, the people we work with are the people we spend a majority of our time with. So, it’s important to choose who you work for and who you work with carefully, as your time is often the most valuable way to voice your values.

Ask Wordbankers why they Vote Every Day for Wordbank, and you’ll get a variety of answers, from the interesting and challenging work we do and our autonomous, flexible work environment, to our support of diversity and our commitment to business as a force for good. The same goes for our excellent in-country resource network around the world; without these people, we couldn’t do the great work we do. We strive to challenge the status quo in our industry, treat our in-country resources – linguists, designers, marketers – as members of our team, advocate for the value of their expertise, and pay them fairly and on time.

For whatever reasons our people choose Wordbank, we know that what’s good for our people is good for us and, ultimately, great for our clients. Win-win-win.

While we are a service business reliant on human talent to do what we do, we still have to buy stuff to run our business. From office supplies to service providers, it matters to us where we spend our business dollars. Here are some of the things we’re doing to Vote Every Day:

  • Sustainable farming is better for people and the environment, so from coffee to office snacks, we buy organic, fair trade, non-GMO products for our break room.
  • We believe it’s important to reduce toxins in the environment and to minimize exposure of our people to harmful chemicals. Our eco-friendly cleaning products come from companies like Grab Green, Meyer’s Clean Day, and Seventh Generation.
  • Our paper products are made from 100% recycled paper, and we try to minimize the amount of waste we produce by reusing, recycling, and composting.
  • When it comes to the suppliers themselves, we’re proactively switching to companies with sustainable and ethical business practices, such as, which has a phenomenal reputation for the way they treat their people, and, a B Corp with a commitment to the environment.

In the coming year, we’ll be looking at all our service providers, from healthcare to banking, payroll to 401k. It matters to us how the companies we do business with operate and what they stand for.

As a company that helps organizations grow internationally, our goal is to help companies that are best for the world. We’ve made a formal commitment to grow our client base among organizations who share our values. More than 45% of our clients have a CSR-rating (corporate and social responsibility rating) of good or better. Our aim is to increase that to 55% and keep it growing. We Vote Every Day by caring about the source of our income and what the companies that buy our services stand for.

People, planet, profit. These words drive our purpose, values, and culture. Six years ago we made a commitment to triple-bottom-line standards of measuring our success. And joining the B Corp community was a formal way of making that commitment. We truly believe in the power and importance of business as a force for good. We’re all for profits but not at any cost. We believe in the B Economy – an inclusive economy that creates an opportunity for all people to live with dignity, support themselves and their families, and make a contribution to their communities. We pledge to Vote Every Day for these principles and to connect ourselves with others who do the same.
